The Drakes of Hazard (Main Ring) You'll be amazed at the skill as man and dog work together in harmony to control, direct and navigate a troop of fearless Indian Runner Ducks around the arena, funny, unique and unforgettable! Fife and Kinross Working Terrier Association Terrier Racing (Main Ring) If you haven't seen these lively, funny dogs racing so determinedly with each other, you've missed out. They are so eager to win, and provide huge amounts of fun wherever they go. Don't forget there's an open terrier show on Saturday, so bring your own pup! Foxhounds (Main Ring-Sunday Only) The skill of the riders, and the sheer gentle intelligence of the hounds is overwhelming. Alan Murray will invite children in the audience to come and meet these beautiful hounds. Our son Sandy loves this bit most of all. Around The Festival Tayside Airgun Club (on hill) Come and have some tuition, or just have a go at air rifle shooting. Test your skill. You'll be surprised at how quickly you pick it up. Denbuilding with Architecture and Design Scotland Family den building workshops throughout the festival. This looks like enormous fun! Axe Throwing With Atholl Adventures. (near pond) Learn how to throw a double edged axe. A unique, and skillful sport, dating back into the mists of history. Paintball With Atholl Adventures This needs no introduction! Hit the target, and test your skill. Challenge your friends! Clay Shooting with Pentangle Shooting(on hill) Have you ever had a go at Clay Shooting? Well now's your chance. Come and see Pentangle, and while you're at it, send the kids to...... .....BASC (young shots) (on the hill) and let the experts introduce the kids to this skillful sport. Children's fishing with Angling for Youth Developement While you're winning the distance casting, send the children over to have fun catching a trout. Farriery with J & K Balfour (hill) Come and see these magnificent Clydesdales. Demonstrations of Farriery all day, and such beautiful horses. Highland Ponies with Kate Godfrey (hill) These lovely rugged ponies have been used for centuries in all sorts of situations. Kate is an expert, and you will Ferret Racing and Strolling Ferrets with the Scottish Ferret Club (ring row) Adorable is all I can say. Bring your ferret for a race, or to meet new friends. Archery with Atholl Adventures Always wanted to be Robin Hood? Have the children? Now's your chance, with archery demonstrations and have a go throughout the festival. The Royal Marine's Climbing Wall Always popular, the Marines have brought their climbing wall, and invite you to have a go at challenging yourself against it. Facepainting with Kirsty Macleod Beautiful, or horrific, you choose. Or perhaps you'd like a temporary tattoo? Scurry with Gavin and Fiona Jamieson (over the drive from the main event field) Your dog will show his skills at retrieving and perhaps win a prize in the scurry. Go on, give him some fun! Vintage Vehicles with Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club A nostalgic trip through time. You might remember the vehcles, and agricultural machinery, or your parents, or grandparents, but do your children? Show them something old! Highland Dancing with SODAH (Saturday Only) On the hill Come and watch the Angus Kilties strutting their stuff. (And wonder at how they find the energy!) A spectacularly skilled competition, with spectacularly skilled dancers. Children's for fun dog show Runs both days. Send the kids into the main ring with your dog and win a prize. Pure Fun and laughter Fairground, badge making, story telling, pony rides, face painting, shop competitions, quad-bikes, fly tying, crafts, real ale, dogs dogs dogs, horses horses horses, massages, window shopping, sampling food, admiring the gardens, picnicking, watching the children enjoy themselves, admiring the castle, music, trampolines................... ..............Or maybe you'd rather shop.............. It is only three months until Christmas, and with two large craft marquees (3D2D a packed food hall, and over 300 shops around this large but friendly festival, it won't be hard to find something unique either for yourself or someone else. Many of our shopkeepers are offering a festival discount, or you could just wander round the food hall sampling the delicious food and drinks on offer there. It's up to you.
