Salmon And Trout Fly Distance Casting
Competition
Rules
1. The Judges decisions are final and no debate will be
entered into.
2. Competitors must use the rod, reel and line provided. The
competitor must not interfere with any part of the equipment nor
use it in such a way that it is likely to be damaged.
3. Competitors may use any fly casting technique provided that it is
safe to do so. Any competitor who behaves in a manner that the
judges consider is not safe will be disqualified.
4. Competitors must start with the line reeled in and the fly in hand
and when instructed to do so by the Judge.
5. The time allowed is 3 minutes
6. Competitors must cast the line within the markers or ropes.
7. The distance cast will be judged as the landing point of the fly
along the inside of the marker rope at the completion of each
cast. (If the fly falls outside the rope the cast will not be scored)
8. The competitor must give the Judge sufficient time to measure
the distance or the cast will not be scored.
9. The Competitor’s score will be the longest distance cast made within the
3 minute limit, and this will be entered into the competition.
10 Professional fly casting instructors and Ghillies
are not eligible to compete under competition rules. |
