1st and 2nd September 2007
Scotland has a rich and varied history of hunting. Nothing stirs the emotions more than to hear the huntsman's horn or the singing of hounds coming through a misty morning. Fox hunting has undergone shattering changes due to political changes over the past few years. If the modern Scottish fox hound packs are to survive these changes they have got to adapt to a new era and overcome all opposition towards them. Allan Murray will be joining us in the main arena with a selection of Scottish fox hounds to explain these changes and describe the role of the fox hound in the modern countryside. The hounds are being paraded by Philip Fergus who is huntsman for the Fife Foxhounds. Come and join us as we enjoy these happy, intelligent animals, with their love for people, their jobs and life in general. We are lucky to have them with us this weekend! |
