Coupar Grange Salmon Fishing
The Coupar Grange beat on the River Isla has two miles with both banks
of some of the most prolific salmon fishing on the whole of the Tay
system maintaining runs of salmon synonymous with the classic rivers,
producing more spring salmon on the fly than many of the Tay beats. The
average salmon returns over the last ten years have been 300 fish per
season, with the last three years returns averaging 360 fish. The
average weight for spring fish has been 9.5lbs, with specimen fish of
over 15lbs recorded. The grilse runs can be outstanding especially in
low water conditions as they congregate in large numbers in the deep
pools and runs awaiting water in order to run the Ericht.
There are six season tickets per day available however they are very
much in demand with a waiting list for some days. There are also two day
tickets available for holidaymakers and the casual salmon angler.
